One unfortunate Sunday afternoon, Brynn was waddling around the dining room and did a header into the pc unit that sits on the floor. One of the cd flaps was open and she went down, lip first, right onto a corner of the flap. She was gushing blood from her lip and I could see it was a pretty deep cut. Josh and I didn't know if it needed stitches, or if it would be fine the next day. So, we called our resident Nurse Practitioner, Erica, and she recommended we take her to Urgent Care.
That's what I did. I took her to Urgent Care and I'm so glad I did! If nothing else, it put my mind at ease. So many questions were running through my mind. Would it scar? Would it need a stitch? Would they send me home for being an idiot mother and wasting their time? None of the above proved to be true. The nurse was so kind. She grabbed the doctor to come take a quick look and he decided no stitches were needed. He just sent me home with a package of steri-strips, and said "We'll act like you were never here." They didn't charge me anything and I got peace of mind knowing that I did the right thing and it didn't break the bank in the process.
I guess there really is a first time for everything. This was our first trip to urgent care, and I have a feeling it won't be our last.
Here is a pic of poor little B, after she settled down a bit. Josh took the pic to send to Erica to get her expert opinion :)
